We welcome Glaswegian producer Sulci to the label with the release of her debut, "Before The Echo".

The story of Sulci is an inspiring one. She was born with tinnitus and partially deaf meaning that she struggled to appreciate and experience music throughout her childhood in the early 2000's. Almost shutting music out of her life completely through frustration. As she reached her teens she began learning piano and guitar as a way of escapism and adapted a new concentration on how to immerse herself in sound. She also began recording acapella takes of her own voice on her iPhone and layering them together to make purely vocal soundscapes. Shortly thereafter she picked up Ableton software and started to make backing tracks and accompaniments for her multi range vocals.

This journey leads us to "Before The Echo".

It's an album rich in emotion and depth. Carefully pieced together to tell a story. It pulls together elements of ambient, electronica, garage, chamber pop, choral, sampledelia and funk. Quite the cocktail.

The result is a colourful and vibrant palette of sounds that immediately obtain a signature aesthetic for this fresh new producer. Stripped back and slowed down garage style beats intertwining with layered vocals alongside a mix of brooding soundscapes that are juxtaposed with some more uptempo numbers that come with an experimental pop edge.

There's a specific tone that makes intermittent appearances throughout at the start and close of a few tracks. They act as a reminder and recognition of her own struggles to reach a comfortable space in the world of audio.

We, for one, are glad that she has reached that destination.
