about

We love a compilation here at Bricolage. It’s a great way to showcase a diverse range of sounds and shine a spotlight on some new producers. And for as much as we love to traverse the globe with our releases, we also like to give focus and recognition to our homegrown artists right here in Scotland.

Our latest various artists compilation, “Turadh”, does exactly that.

For this mammoth twenty track effort, we’ve pooled together an eclectic array of accomplished producers that are either Scottish or based here.

The tracklist features established Bricolage regulars like Fragile X, Esef, Doxil, Urgula, Ty Lumnus and No Arrival alongside one of the latest additions to our regular roster, Sulci.

Returning to the fray are compilation familiars like ABI, Equal Parts and Danni Rowan.

The other half of this assemblage of electronic gems is amplified by some fresh names on the label.

There’s the Glasgow based Macrotonic, Saangoma, The New Human, Sigma Proxy and Keir Morr in addition to the elusive Veryan and the Highlands based, Beira.

Concluding the artists on “Turadh” are the Berlin based, Edinburgh native, Inara. Cortecx, a Glaswegian producer, currently living in Hong Kong and lunattic, a producer originally from the Canary Islands, now based here in Glasgow.

As with all our compilations, “Turadh” is a diverse and multi-faceted listen. There was no blueprint or requirement for submissions, no genre bias or focus on one style. We like to give our artists free rein to create what they will.

The result is a monumental blend of rhythms, tones, techniques and methodologies that covers electronica, downtempo, ambient, IDM, techno, glitch and experimental soundscapes.

A fusion of sounds that has been carefully mapped out in an order to allow flow with balance and let each individual artist display their talents.

"Turadh" is a Scottish Gaelic term meaning "a break in the clouds".
